Site information:
Main: Self-explanatory.
Speedrun Demos: A variety of my own speedrun demos for a variety of FPS games, including mission packs. Almost all of these are the first ever speedruns and/or unique to this site, and all runs involve proper tricks and shortcuts.
FPS Articles: Original articles on a variety of FPS-related issues, including analytical articles, reviews, rants and other views.
Trick Move Demos: A variety of my own trick jump demos for the Quake series, some easy, some harder. Almost all of these are the first posted recordings of the tricks, the Quake 2 tricks being perhaps the best examples.
IRC Chat Logs: Chat logs taken from the #terrafusion channel on Gamesnet.net. Some interesting discussions on mapping or gaming (and a couple on music), and plenty of nonsensical exchanges of abuse and frivolities.
Other Stuff: Again, self-explanatory - stuff that doesn't fit elsewhere.
Site history:
The site works at 800x600 resolution or above, in both Internet Explorer 4 / 5 and Netscape 4, but of course it looks better in IE =). It was constructed with the old version of Homesite, a very useful and intuitive HTML editor (not a WYSIWYG editor, you can type in all the HTML by hand as well as use tag buttons) that unfortunately doesn't seem available for download any more. There is another Homesite, by a different company I think, which is similar but more cumbersome and cluttered to use. All the graphics were made using Paintshop Pro 6. The site is uploaded using Cupertino, and is stored at Telefragged.
This site was originally TEAMShambler Quake Level Reviews, but after a month that site moved to
PlanetQuake. Anxious to do something with this space, I made the "LostSpirit Custom Level Demos" site, which
was to show off my custom map deathmatch demos, as well as any custom map speedruns I did. After about six months, I had a lot of other demos, articles, rants, views and general updates
that I wanted to post and weren't suitable for TSQLR, so I expanded the site and renamed it
"TEAMShambler FPS Demos and Discussion" to encompass the wider range of material. After a couple of months I improved all the graphics and added more sections, starting the site's notorious "purple" phase. Almost a year later I got bored with that and fancied something fresh which could display all the content in an easier menu, so bashed up the current design, which encompasses all I want to do that isn't covered by the other sites I was involved with. As my opportunity and interesting in gaming and running websites waned I closed all my sites including this one, currently I have re-opened on a casual basis.
Shambler information:
I was introduced to computer games by my friend SCRAD, when I saw him playing Doom on his PC. At the time I didn't own a PC and wasn't interested in computer games, so I was surprised when I managed to actually control the game and enjoy it. For a couple of years, I played Doom, ROTT, Dark Forces, and later on, Quake, on and off when I visited SCRAD, and grew to like FPS games more. At the start of 1998, I got my own PC, Quake, Quake 2 and various mission packs. During spring 1998 I got a modem and connected to the net, specifically to show off some speedruns I'd been doing. Gradually I got increasingly interested in the Quake community, particularly custom maps, single player, and speedrunning.
In winter 1998, my enthusiasm for custom Q1 SP maps encouraged me to open TEAMShambler Quake Level Reviews, the only site dedicated to Q1 SP. Following the success of this site, and taking an interest in other games, especially Unreal, I opened other sites and in spring 1999 started reviewing maps at Nali City. My interests for computer games remain the same as when I first played them: FPS, single player, fantasy/sci-fi/gothic styles, custom maps, reviewing, speedrunning, tricks. I've continued as part of the gaming scene with similar enthusiasm throughout - that won't last, I'm sure I will have to cut back or stop at some point - but overall, I've had some fun, I've learnt a lot, I've got satisfaction from running sites... And indeed it hasn't lasted. Closed all my sites, took a long break from gaming, and got back into on a more casual basis.
In case you are wondering, this is currently done on the following system: Pentium PIII 600 mhz, 256 meg RAM, Geforce2 GTS 32 meg graphics card, 18 gig primary HD, 3 gig secondary HD, 17'' monitor, Microsoft Intellimouse, all other components as standard.
My real life information is reserved for those who know me in real life.

It's worth noting that I only learnt to strafe in August 2000. All demos - speedruns, tricks, and deathmatch - were done without strafing. In fact I didn't find strafing at all important for most FPS games, single player or deathmatch - it's only more "simulation" style games, or FPS games with reduced jumping, that I've needed to learn it for.
