Site closed.
This site is currently closed and is unlikely to reopen. This is because I haven't been inspired to do any useful content for many months, and I'd rather just play games when I have the time. The current content will probably remain here as an archive.

Last update - games.
If anyone's interested in what games I'd rather be playing than contriving some irrelevancies for this site, here they are:

Currently playing:
Mechcommander 2 - RTS game with Mechs. Fun, amenable, good graphics and effects, customising Mechs is cool.
DS9: The Fallen - 3PS Star Trek game. Some cool features and maps, but gameplay is boring me - playing just to finish off.

Yet to play or finish:
Alice - 3PS weirdo gothic Alice game. Demo was cool and spooky, haven't got round to the full yet.
Black and White - RTS/RPG/God game/Tamagochi etc etc. Looks superb, innovative and inspired, but novelty has worn off.
Giants - FPS/3PS action/RTS game. Sunny, very pretty, and amusing. Will get round to it at some point.
Undying - FPS gothic game. Cliver Barker themes + Unreal engine = cool. Shambler = lazy.

Partly played probably won't complete:
Deep Fighter - FPS underwater game. Nice setting, pity about the random crashes at the end of unsavable 2 hour missions.
Descent 3 - FPS flying vehicle game. Kinda cool but very soulless.

Demos recently played:
AvP 2 - FPS Aliens game. Never played the first, this is pretty stylish and fun despite glitchy physics and controls.
Codename: Outbreak - Tactical near-future FPS previously known as Venom. Better demo, still got loads of neat features and ideas.
Ground Control - Futuristic RTS. Couldn't get through this on Easy before, still can't now. Only trying because it looks pretty.
Project Eden - Squad based sci-fi FPS. Neat squad controls, unexceptional looks.
Red Faction - FPS. A half-arsed version of Half-Life made with a pre-alpha Deus Ex engine.

Demos I'm trying soon:
Colobot - 3PS strategy game. A cute game for kiddies. I dunno it just looked nice.
Homeworld - Space RTS game. Thought I ought to try another RTS and this looked one of the coolest.
Homeworld: Cataclysm - Same as above.
Hostile Waters - RTS/ vehicular action game. Looks pretty cool, controls are fucked, gotta see how it goes.
Mechwarrior 4 - Mech sim. I blame Waddy from PDKT for this, god knows how I'm going to control it.
Sacrifice - Fantasy/weird RTS/3PS game. Very cool looking, rather complex to control. Maybe more RTS experience will help.
Tribes 2 - MP-only outdoor FPS. Won't buy it but it will be nice to see what it's like.

Might play in the future:
Aquanox - FPS underwater game. Looks cool, have to see how it controls.
Aquarius - RTS/FPS sci-fi game. Certainly no BZ2 (but what is?), but looks pretty cool and might be worthwhile.
Atlantica - FPS sci-fi game. Strange settings on globular worlds, looks cool and interesting.
AvP 2 - See above.
Breed - FPS/RTS sci-fi game. Looks very cool, could be really good.
C&C Renegade - FPS sci-fi game. Never played and C&C, this looks neat and I like the sound of the setting.
Codename: Outbreak - See above.
Darkened Sky - 3PS fantasy/gothic game. Based on Skittles adverts but despite that ridiculous premise, looks cool and surreal.
Deus Ex 2 - FPS/RPG game. Sure this is going to be good.
DNF - FPS game. If it exists, of course.
DOOM3 - FPS game. If it's any good.
Halo - FPS game. Haven't been following this but it seems to be quite promising.
Medal of Honour - FPS game. Looks very nice, have to see how it plays.
Morrowind - FRPG fantasy game. Looks superb, if the FPS controls are proper, it could be an amazing game.
Nomads - RTS/3PS action game. Set on "steampunk" floating islands, which looks and sounds very inspiring.
Ozzy's Black Skies - 3PS dragon sim. Bring on the Ozzy flavoured dragon sim already!! Looks very cool.
Parklan: Iron Strategy - RTS/Mech game. Promising premise, looks good, have to see how it controls.
Quake 4 - FPS game. If it's any good.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein - FPS game. Looks pretty cool. Maybe I should try the demo to see how it feels.
Sigma - RTS game. Mutating and combining animals to make units - sounds brilliant, looks good too.
S.W.I.N.E. - RTS tanky game. Pigs and rabbits in control of tanks. Sounds potentially charming, looks good too.
Unreal 2 - FPS game. Sure this is going to be good.
Warrior Kings - Fantasy RTS game. Generally looks cool, seems to be lots of units to control though.
Zanzarah - 3PS RPG game. Cutey cutey game but nice graphics in a fantasy setting. Will the 3PS control be good?
Zero-G Marines - Tactical zero-gravity FPS game. Hmmmm not sure. Very austere looks are losing their charm.

Last update - file downloads:
3DDownloads is a pain in the arse. No direct linking, stupid file id numbers, even linking to the teamshambler directory fucks things up. Thus, most of the demo downloads don't work here. However the files are still available, by a convoluted route: Go to http://www.3ddownloads.com/, then go to the Telefragged directory, then to the teamshambler directory, and just pick out the files you want from the list (using the demo pages to get the zip names).
- - - - - -
There is some good news though, thanks to Nagasaki @ Ill Mind Moves, who has posted almost all of my Quake2 trick demos at that site, so they at least have normal working downloads, hurrah. If I get any other demo links, I'll post them too.

That's all...

A result!
I'm not even going to pretend to update properly, but I have got some good news: I've managed have Flash disabled without IE bringing up "this page will not display correctly blah blah" warnings. Basically I went into the registery - run: regedit.exe - (I was in there deleting all references to that fucking invasionware Comet Cursor bullshit, as it wouldn't let me delete the fucking comet.dll file from Windows\System), and deleted anything with "activex" in it. And now Flash doesn't display (hurrah), and no pop-up warnings either. Warning: Meddling with the registery could seriously bollock up your computer, and should not be attempted if you're a pig-headed computer ignoramus like me. If anyone has a more reliable way to disable Flash without IE's pop-up warnings, please let me know.

Update: And this warning is confirmed, since I must have deleted something to do with Javascript, as it no longer works either. Doh. Gotta try to fix that now.

Stuff: 08/07/01

No updates.
The Vondur asked me to update so: Recently I have been very busy with real life stuff (other hobbies and more important events). The only game I've played in the last two months is Quake single player, and I don't have any particular urge to play anything else. No idea when or indeed if I will play other games or have anything interesting (or otherwise) to update about. Don't hold your breath.

File downloads here.
Due to 3DDownloads changing their file ID thingies, all the downloads at this site are b0rked. I will try to find some way to do a mass replace (currently I'd be looking at changing 200-ish individual links all manually), but in the meantime please go to http://www.3ddownloads.com/?directory=/telefragged/teamshambler and just pick out the files you want from the list.

No map reviews.
Well I tried for several months, checked around many sites for the less-mapped games I was interested in, and nothing turned up. There is one Daikatana single player level - see PDKT for all that news and stuff. I could do that, but firstly I'm not very motivated, and secondly I'm a bit reluctant to do it, as I'd be tempted to give it a right (and appropriate) pasting. Not sure what will happen in the future, depends what gaming I do, what's released, and what I'm interested in.

Geforce2 and FSAA
Right. I spent all last weekend trying to make sense of this GF2, after having very poor results with several games I tested. Thanks to Frib and Nanospawn for spending several hours helping me out of their own goodwill, also Lunaran, Maj and anyone else. With various tweaks I did gain a speed improvement in most games. However, the main problem was having FSAA on - although I am sure I checked and previously found FSAA made little difference, obviously I got that very wrong. The Frib checked with his machine and got similarly "hilarious" 10-20 FPS in a typical UT botmatch (which incidentally I'd forgotten how much it rocks....this testing has got me back into UT =)). Another thing I got very wrong was checking FSAA comparative benchmarks when I was thinking of getting a V5, and being happy with what I saw, and then somehow "forgetting" how much worse a GF2 was at FSAA when I was thinking of the GF2.

This is somewhat annoying to me as the three main reasons I got a GF2 are: 1. FSAA. 2. Bumpmapping. 3. Speed increase for a few games. And yes, before anyone talks crap to me, FSAA does make a genuine difference to me at 1024 res (which I run all games at), having played with it on for a couple of weeks. This was proved accidentally in a "blind" test: After the last round of tweaks and reinstalling drivers, I started checking Blade, without thinking about FSAA at all. First thing I noticed was the jagged edges around my otherwise cute little Dwarf. Still didn't think about FSAA, until I noticed the same issue in Battlezone2, when it struck me what was missing. Now, it makes FA difference in a gib-splattered UT botmatch, but I'm playing a lot of more relaxed games where you can take time to admire the scenery - and I find it a bit more admirable with FSAA on.

So, what to do. I'm not a techno-freak (more like a techno-idiot), I don't overclock my monitor, wank over benchmarks, or play at 320 resolution so I can get 8 trillion FPS, and I only occasionally look at hardware stuff because I find bar charts so puurrrrty. But I do like games to look puurrrrty too. Thus I've thought of several options, in order of feasiblity:

1. Wait several months and upgrade everything including a GF3.
Pros: Should be extremely fast. Can hopefully build a very good system with compatible components. Upgrading inevitable anyway.
Cons: Relatively expensive. No playable FSAA for several months. High probability of killing my computer.

2. Upgrade to an ATI Radeon.
Pros: Relatively cheap (£160 for a 64 meg card). 4x FSAA much faster than Voodoo5/GF2. New drivers apparently give 2x FSAA too which should be very playable. Does all forms of bumpmapping. Quite likes 32 bit colour and higher res.
Cons: If the 2x FSAA isn't implemented well, 4x FSAA probably still won't be fast enough. 16 bit rumoured to be awful. Unsure how it will perform with Unreal engine games compared to V5. Would need to do something with GF2.

3. Try to buy a cheap Voodoo5 PCI to install in addition to the GF2.
Pros: I've seen one advertised at PC world for a very cheap £100. 2x FSAA will be much quicker than GF2. No difference between V5 PCI and AGP in FSAA mode. Would still have GF2 for games with bumpmapping. Would run Unreal engine games much faster.
Cons: Advert is very probably bogus. Problems running two cards in the same machine. Even if feasible, reboots are apparently needed between each game. V5 FSAA not as fast as Radeon. V5 FSAA rumoured to be blurry.

4. Replace the GF2 with a Voodoo5.
Pros: 2x FSAA will be much quicker than GF2. Would run Unreal engine games much faster.
Cons: Fairly expensive (£200). No bumpmapping. Slower for many games. V5 FSAA not as fast as Radeon. V5 FSAA rumoured to be blurry. Would need to do something with GF2.

5. Play in a lower resolution so FSAA is playable.
Haha: You must be fucking joking.

So, any views??

And light relief:
Blues linked more cool shots for that good looking fantasy RTS game Warrior Kings that I spooged about last week, and I've added, to the list below, the direct image shots to avoid that fucking ghastly script the WK site uses. Including two shots (g,h) that aren't, AFAIK, linked on their page. TEAMShambler, public service broadcasting.

Followups: 21/04/01

Fantasy RTSs (again).
Whoopy doo, I've just seen a forthcoming good looking f/m RTS (thanks Blues). It's called Warrior Kings, and it has single player, proper fantasy/medieval themes, full 3D, and looks pretty damn good (only the crude and oversized villagers are disappointing). Unfortunately their screenshot page has some well fucked up scripts that force the pop-ups as your main window until you close them (why?? what's the point in pissing off your prospective customers??), so here are all the direct jpgs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k. I'll be keeping an eye on this one...

Geforce 2 stuff (again).
Hmmmm, sorta improvements. Typically it was user error in Blade's case - I had it set up with 3Dfx D3D, once it was changed to generic D3D, it works fine. Well, almost, the real time lighting slows the game down in a way the Voodoo3 didn't =/. And it crashes much more often. While Battlezone2, I had accidentally set to 32 bit colour - at 16 bit it runs better, but still slower than the V3, and I get discoloured banding (which I think is a typical feature of Gf2s in 16 bit mode??). Still unsatisfactory, but at least I can play these games now. And indeed, I am playing Blade again, for my medieval carnage fix. This time using the Dwarf, who is very difficult for the 2nd and 3rd maps, but once he gets a hammer he kicks some serious arse (apart from that fucking Forge level!). I'm about 2/3 the way through, next up I'll try the Barbarian =).

Goatse.cx0ring (again).
Errr, no.

Stuff: 18/04/01

Still need help, please:
I'm posting this again at the top, someone must know this and I will be very thankful if you tell me: I need to know how to have Flash permanently disabled on my system, without IE giving me any pop-up warnings. Here's the deal: I've deleted *everything* to do with Flash or Macromedia, including any registery settings. I've set all the ActiveX controls in IE's security settings to "Disable". Now, Flash won't display, but IE gives me a "Your security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly." warning. I'd like to know how to keep Flash disabled but not have to see that warning each time - I managed to get that set-up before, but I forgot how, and I've tried playing with the security settings but to no avail. If anyone can email me with how to get rid of one of the most annoying problems with web design, I will be grateful.

Another lame update...
...devoid of any real content. Well, I've been playing games instead of writing about them or doing tangential stuff like demos.

Black & White.
The good:
It has giant dancing cows.

What, you need more?? =) Okay, I'm very much a latecomer to B&W hype (curiously enough, the enthusiasm of the usually snide and FPS-devoted cynics at the Shack got me initially interested...perhaps I shouldn't be admitting that!!), but the game seems to be (almost) everything people said it would be. It looks excellent, the "infinite zoom" LOD engine is astonishing, the gameplay and freedom to do as you choose is very refreshing (especially for someone who's never played sims/god games/tamagochis), and the giant dancing cow....well, the giant dancing cow is one of the coolest, cutest things I've seen in any game. I wanted this game so I could play something more constructive, and yes it's allowed me to do that - I'm definitely a good god so far, and I focus a lot on creating disciples to ensure a productive society. My cow is a miracle casting genius, I've taught him 5 "good" miracles to 100%, so that he can become an integral part of the community. He does, however, have dietary problems, having not crapped for several weeks, and having developed an unfortunate taste for...errrr....people =/. Equally I'm playing more to toy around with the villages and creature, rather than bashing through the game, hence I spent maybe 12 hours on Land 1, and probably the same time on Land 2 having just acquired 4 villages in total. As I say, a very refreshing change - and I can even use most of my weird-arse config, surprisingly enough.
P.S. Maybe the weirdest thing I managed to do was to leash my cow to a passing crow =). Didn't stick around to see what he did (almost certainly eat it, I expect), as I had other jobs at the time...

The bad:
Not much really. Either you like it or you don't, most "flaws" could be a matter of taste or an integral part of the game mechanics. But a few things niggle at me: When you move fast across the landscape, there's a slight delay as the LOD catches up and the detail textures load; more than 7 bookmarks would be very useful (don't the keyboards at Lionhead have 8,9 and 10 keys??); and the haphazard cycling through building types when you're depositing scaffolds is a pain in the arse. And the manual LIES about being able to access the menu when you start the game - you have to sit through a long intro first, which confused me.

The ugly:
It's a beta release not a final release. There are too many serious bugs and too many people suffering from them (don't believe me? see here and here), for B&W to be considered suitable for release. At the moment, and indeed for almost all my playing time, things are going pretty fine and one could forget the problems I've had. Well I'm not forgetting, here they are: Unable to access save games on Land2 and being dumped at the tutorial each time I tried to play, unable to restore my backed up profile after reinstalling, permanent freezes 5 minutes into the game if I play it after using other programs, occasional permanent lock-ups where the mouse buttons won't respond, occasional temporary 10 second pauses with stuttering sound, the wrong tooltips for my creature at least 50% of the time, unable to leash my creature to anything except buildings, creature has stopped crapping at all, creature once got stuck trying to demolish a cemetery and wouldn't stop until it "died". Pretty fucking ugly, though I managed to work around the worst ones.

Fantasy/Medieval RTS games??
There are no good looking fantasy/medieval RTS games. A bold statement, but one which I can assure you is true, having spent several hours around the weekend searching various sites for any f/m RTS that looks anywhere near as good as sci-fi RTSs such as Battlezone2, Ground Control etc. I don't know what it is about the f/m RTS community that makes them so tolerant of crude colours, miserable terrain, and horrid isometric ugliness, but I want no part of that. Call me shallow, but I find that 1337 graphics are the major factor in getting me to try a new gaming genre (e.g. BZ2 for RTS, FAKK2 for 3rd person games, Black & White for giant cow sims =)). However, that ain't happening with f/m RTS, a genre which I want to try as I'm a vibe for something in a traditional olde fantasy vein (maybe why I liked the atmosphere in Blade so much). In the future only WC3 and Myth3 show any potential, and even then I'm wary as these games rarely show the sky and surrounding terrain - which is important to me for looks, atmosphere and sense of place.

The ideal game I'd be looking for would be a Warhammer game using the B&W engine, I'm obviously not going to get that, but on that subject: As always the lack of any good PC games based on the Games Workshop universes - *the* perfect backgrounds for many genres of PC gaming - is a thorn in my, and other peoples', sides (incidentally, people speculate about GW being very awkward and miserly with their licenses....if that's so, how come they've allowed several games to be made, most of which have been very mediocre compared to the GW universes' potential??). Anyway, they are finally making a Warhammer game that looks, in the few tiny preview shots (a couple here, slightly better ones in White Dwarf 255 page 2, go browse in your newsagent), very good - unfortunately it is online-only and thus not worth any serious consideration =/. Looks like a long wait for what I'm after...

Geforce2 GTS = ummm.
Okay this is turning into a bit of a whinefest but hell it's bugging me... I've just "upgraded" to an Asus v7700 Geforce2 GTS 32 meg, well I use the word "upgrade" quite tentatively as so far I've noticed the following "benefits" in games that my old Voodoo3 ran perfectly fine: Battlezone2 - runs much slower, strange effects in the fogging, always crashes my desktop on exiting, FSAA doesn't work on buildings. Blade - runs slower, some skies have obvious banding, blotchiness in dark areas. DS9 - 16 bit colour is horrible in some levels but runs extremely slowly in 32 bit. HO HUM. Other games seem to be fine, and I expect it's good for B&W, but it's still disappointing especially the slowness. Time to lower the FSAA and see if there's better Detonator drivers....or just downgrade =).

Maybe of interest...
A few people I know in the mapping/gaming scene like metal, and a few years back I did too. I've since "upgraded" to jungle, hardcore, techno etc, but from when I listened to metal, industrial, alternative, etc, here's list of the albums I owned. Quite a bit of variety and some pretty obscure stuff there =). And no lame rap-rock crap....well almost :P.

And finally....goatse.cx0red!!
Wh00t, a new victim demonstrating the perfect reaction to seeing a "certain site" in this forum thread (note that the link has been altered and since the thread was deleted, this is a local copy....also, note the date). Call me cynical and irresponsible, but thanks to Million_Suns for the funniest thing I'd read in a very long time =).

News: 29/03/01

Last Unreal/UT SP reviews:
I've had my final Unreal and UT single player reviews posted at Nali City, and I've officially quit reviewing there. The reason is simple - too many games, and too little time, so aside from continuing support for Quake single player at TSQLR, I don't want to be committed to reviewing for another site. The final maps I reviewed were Tashara's Cove and Thrall Village, both fairly good maps so they are linked on the recommended Unreal and UT SP maps list.

Finished Blade and Rune:
Having completed both Blade and Rune in the same weekend, I feel I am in the ideal position to assert, without any fear of contradiction, that Blade is a better game. Thank you. No, but seriously for a moment, although these games can't really be compared, in the end, Rune was a higher quality game overall (less flaws), but I found Blade to be a more memorable and inspirational gaming experience. Sure, I can understand the problems people have with the game, but there's just some undefined coolness about it.

0wned.
First post first post. Now I got one, I think I'll stick to Blues :P.

Need help, please:

Blade of 1337ness....again.
A week on and I have regained my Blade fanboy status =). I might as well do something useful here and say a bit more about this 3rd person slice'n'dice-em-up fantasy game: Since the last update, I've been playing regularly (avg. a level a day, I think), and enjoying the game more and more. The levels are increasingly inspirational, the weapons increasingly destructive, and I'm increasingly used to the combats and enemy. Now, I'm not a blind fanboy like those at the Rebel Act forums, I'm not going to forget this game has it's problems: It's extremely hard to get used to initially, the camera is horrendous when fighting in small spaces, the physics are unforgiving, and the load times surely must be a practical joke. But, BUT, once you get used to it, once you can accomodate it's perculiarities, Blade can be pretty awesome: Levels, lighting (obviously), textures, exploration, music, tension, tactical combats, satisfactory victories, violence, atmosphere. I would recommend anyone who has some patience (I doubt anyone has less than me =)), to try this game, and stick with it, carefully and slowly....I'm damn glad I did. Full info and demo at Blade Universe or Rebel Act.

Blade tips/advice:
This might help people who are just starting or considering doing so. I've seen a lot of specific help to problems, and a fair bit of abuse towards those with problems too, but not that many general tips laid out. There's a lot of obvious stuff you can pick up by RTFMing, experimenting with weapons, and such-like, as well as specific stuff for weapons/enemy, this is just general ideas, from playing the Amazon, but it applies to all characters:
1. Play slowly and carefully, at least initially, to get used to the game. Treat each enemy individually and practice your combat moves.
2. Dodge as often as possible and then dodge some more. You avoid lots of damage, and repeated dodging is good to circle enemy.
3. Wait for enemy to attack, then retaliate. Most enemy have clear attack patterns you can learn to avoid, outwit them, and attack when they're overextended. Taking the initiative means they can often do the same to you.
4. Explore. The best weapons and useful health vials are invariably hidden, these aren't really optional secrets, you need to find them.
5. Take heed that both "leveling up" and proceeding to the next map give you full health. Don't waste potions when you're near to either.
6. Be very cautious with jumps and traps, Blade's control system is unforgiving, and gives you no leeway for making mistakes. There's no air control and it's easy to miss jumps, treat each one with respect.
7. Avoid fighting in close spaces at all costs. The nasty camera bug that locks your z-axis when you hit a wall makes cramped fighting unplayable. Try to draw enemy out and keep an eye on your surroundings to give you space to move. Changing to a closer camera view can help too. Similarly, fighting near angled walls can cause problems if you circle into them and then lock up.
8. Save often, because of the initial difficulty or any unpredictable deaths. Despite the save table, you aren't penalised for doing so.

Other stuff.
Blade has been soaking up my gaming time (in much the same way as the ground soaks up an Orc's blood after you've dismembered and decapitated it's stinking corpse...), though I did cram in a bit of the old DX, to be honest I'm finding the game less inspiring near the end, there's less interaction and gameplay choices, and it's feeling a bit Half-Lifey. Still cool, I'll be back in it soon. Then of course Undying is lurking on the horizon - I've got a lot of "dark" games to play, but there's always the ever-cheerful Giants. Levels-wise, there's a few for Deus Ex so I might tuck into those, and apparently the Blade editor will be released - I expect it might be very hard to map for though. Anyway, Quake is still where it's at =). Otherwise there's not much I'm planning for this site, no articles nor demos, just playing a lot of games which is fun.

And the moment you've been waiting for:
Animated ascii fisting pr0n. Okay, two ways to do this: If you have a crap connection, download this tiny zip, unzip it retaining the folder set, go into each sub-folder in order and open "start.html". Feel free to save it as your desktop or something =). Or if you have a proper connection that will open pages instantly (something I can only imagine), or don't mind it loading in slow-mo, click on these: 1, 2, 3, 4,. Please note that I have highlighted the philosophical connotations of these works of art for your intellectual stimulation.

BTW,
I was going to mention two more Shack first posts I got in an afternoon this week....but having topped it with 4 yesterday *grin* I won't spam here with links and crap, my 1337ness is proven =). But will I be sending any money to the save the Shack fund?? After all the abuse and trolling and stuff?? Hmmm... I think it would be kinda cool to help out, but equally I don't see what's special about the Shack that I should have to donate for it, compared to other news sites/forums, and I wouldn't miss it that much. Anyone else who's not a Shackboy have any views on this??

News: 04/03/01

Boink.
Two games have been noteworthy for me recently: Deus Ex which I have been playing a mighty lot of and enjoying just as much. What can I say, it's everything people said it was and almost everything it should be (compared to, say, some other, overrated, games *cough*). I particularly enjoy the choice of gameplay styles, character interaction, and optional side-missions (aspects which seem a bit weaker later on). I'm already planning my 2nd and 3rd playings of DX - my current character is well rounded, next will focus on combat skillz, then 1337 h4x0ring. D00d. Bring on DX2 already =). And Blade which I have been playing fairly little and enjoying not nearly as much as I'd hoped. I was looking forward to this 3rd person hack-em-up the most in 2001, unfortunately the difficulty is much increased over the enjoyable demo (due to the lethal enemy combat AI), and there are severe problems with the camera movement and loading times. A pity as the game looks even more awesome, sounds great, and the maps are cool, it's a pity it's hampered by those frustrations. I will keep going though, very slowly and patiently.

And...
I got another one. Whoop or something.

An interesting little snippet:

<Shambler> hmmmm i think i'm too nice
<Shambler> i don't like conflict and pissing people off
<Lunaran> ROFLMAO
<Shambler> (as is evident in my behaviour online)
<Lunaran> You don't like conflict and pissing people off?!
* Lunaran falls over laughing hysterically
* Alcatraz waits for the inevitable thunderbolts from heaven for shambler saying something so obvious a blatant lie
<Shambler> well tbh people i encounter online are somewhat less real even than characters in games (or novels or whatever)
<Shambler> kinda below the threshold for having any interest in them
<Shambler> interaction becomes an abstract concept
<Shambler> communcation is more theoretical than actual
