Rush = Q2 DM reviewer?? ... *** shambles changes topic to 'Death of Q1 DM reviewing, when Q1 DM mapping is still thriving - discuss.' oooh... so shambler has had a fight with paul... eh Kab1e? well that new title? the new one Death of Q1 DM reviewing, when Q1 DM mapping is still thriving - discuss yes i think it's an important issue mpq has gone....yet q1 dm mapping keeps going....there are no review sites left what is to be done??? but i don't see any good maps coming out in the past 2/3 weeks.. i, at least, am concerned bollocks and there are many backed up too all the maps i've seen the past few weeks have been bullshit yeh probably hmmm bugdm9 is good but that is q2 sorry :) im mapping my bwdm1 i gotta say 99.9% of the maps i've seen for q1 in the past month or so have been shit. q1 of course and i want it reveiwed! that is utter wank of course kable na, it's not. i say we open a map reveiw site, but only reveiws the non-shit maps, say, the ones that would be above a 2.0/5 on mpq i say someone does indeed do that hehe ok, there have been a few maps that were good do you know exactly what that entails bobby? and probably many more that you have never found kable true Rush: probably not ahh well, thats my view. but of course! i thought about bugging the shit out of paul again..... and trying to takeover if you had a review site...u could prove it, Kab1e, heheh!!! :P i would, i'm too busy. *** Rush is now known as Rush|aq2 the point is not that u need to review all the crud levels....the point is to be there for the good levels right like, i haven't reviewed a q1 sp level for a month, but i am still supporting the scene and when ppl make maps they know there will be somewhere to review them thats what im saying yeh but as you say when you get a bunch of shit levels & no levels are promoted cos like, they're by some poof who mails in (eg rocketman) saying 'here's my greatest map yet' and he gets the front page & get's like a 1000 d/ls per day and if 90% of the maps you review are of rocketman standard... then you become depressed. lol kable well or simply don't review them thats what im saying, dont reveiw them! oh hang on... i am NOT saying there needs to be another MPQ.....that aims to review everything " : the point is not that u need to review all the crud levels " but that defeats the point of a review site but a site that reviewed the okay, good, excellent maps would be extremely important not it does not at all kable that is total shite if you don't review as many levels as possible & only review 2/3 shit maps (probably rocketmans) and the other 7/8 are good... you're called biast the point is to accurately describe and assess the levels it would be between inspection and mpq on the # of lvl's reveiwed as the other 7/8 maps are probably from the same few people (nothing wrong with that... but...) why the hell would you be biased??? biased FOR quality and against shite maybe!! BUT. you DON"T get the same amount of OK levels as shit levels, you get 2 to 3 times many shit levels as OK to good.. yes shambles: remember, the 1337 bastards would call you biased, not sensible ppl so what??? you don't have to review the shite ones look. my point damnit! say 10 levels get released well, there are more shit mappers than good, therefore more shit e-mail.... 5 are shite, 3 are decent, 2 are good you review the 3 decent and 2 good ones....pointing out what is good and bad about them, which ones are better yadda yadda - and totally ignore the shite ones i refuse to review 20 shite maps a month KABLE read what i say look at what shab is saying! smab even shamb! smab! hehe there we go but you have to play the shit ones though to know which ones are good... no you have to look at them for 10 seconds then bin them look kable arg.. i did it with q1 sp maps before starting my site in 2 weeks, i played about 180 - 200 maps discarded almost all of them, kept about 20 to review wow that sounds like a vote of confidence in the mapping community :) heh whatever and dm maps you can usually tell within 30 seconds....much easier than sp maps you don't have to review shite, you just have to be ruthless but think about it, more shitty mappers = more shitty spam e-mail about not reviewing their shitty maps look, if 1 guy can do it for a year or whatever, then surely we can handle doing less! tough tell them, to learn do what i do...write a map theories page kable: so we deal with it haha, thats like telling rocketman not to map good idea there not gonna happen :) u get a complaint, tell them "go look at theories page" - a one line email did he get a pq page btw? yes yes WTF even lowtax is pissed about that see .. so what?? but he's like the only one who runs pq just ignore it no he does content, not hosting oh like....i turn away q1 sp maps still...even from mappers i really like (like tiddles recently) rocketman is the most prolific mapper in the q1 world period he NEEDs to die but he can be ignored hehe yes by KILLING HIM anyway rocketman is not the point his name is though.. :) rocket hehe paul's "review everything" policy is excellent in theory but perhaps just too difficult in practise ...
